Giuseppe Castiglione (Italian, 1688–1766)

Italian Jesuit missionary and painter, who worked in China. He served as an artist at the imperial court of three emperors: the Kangzi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong emperors. He painted in a style that is a fusion of European and Chinese traditions.
