Between Silence & Becoming: Gesture, Memory and Inner Landscapes is a virtual solo exhibition presenting twenty-seven works by Pakistani visual artist and art historian Irum Malik. Developed through painting, ink and mixed media, the exhibition explores states of transition between stillness and movement, memory and presence, containment and release. Circular forms, calligraphic gestures, fragments, layered surfaces and recurring thresholds move throughout the works as visual traces of inward experience. Rather than constructing fixed narratives, the paintings invite slow looking, allowing form, colour and material gesture to become spaces for contemplation. The exhibition unfolds through four interconnected movements—Orbits of Silence, Memory & Trace, Passage & Shelter, and Becoming & Inner Architecture—revealing a continuing dialogue between abstraction, emotional memory and transformation. Conceived as an artist-led virtual exhibition, Between Silence & Becoming allows audiences, curators, researchers and collectors to encounter the works internationally through a digital gallery environment.
Human After All is a study on the fragility of perception and the ongoing instability of the image as evidence of reality. The human body, while remaining the point of origin, gradually dissolves into visual systems that distort its presence, ultimately questioning its identity. Through varying degrees of interference, the figure moves across states of recognition and loss, oscillating between what appears and what collapses within the act of seeing. The portrait is never a document, but a field of transformation: a territory where signal degradation occurs, visual memory is rewritten, and form becomes doubt. Within this unstable space, technology is not merely a tool but a perceptual filter and a distorted form of memory. The images evoke a suspended temporality in which residues of analog systems and past interferences overlap with contemporary digital logic, generating a visual language built on error, noise, and ambiguity. What remains is an uncertain presence: human only in its possibility of being so.

Beautiful and misterious portraits

Step into a gallery where time dissolves. Our virtual exhibition “Faces of Forever: The Fayum Portraits” invites you to meet real people who lived along the Nile nearly 2,000 years ago. Painted on thin wooden panels and placed over mummies, these vivid likenesses were meant to guide their owners into the afterlife—yet they gaze back at us with a disarming, modern immediacy. What to expect A walk through Roman-era Egypt Glide between torch-lit colonnades, desert breezeways, and reconstructed Fayum workshops while spatial audio mixes market chatter with soft brushstrokes. Ultra-high-resolution portraits Zoom to pigment-grain level, rotate each panel in 3-D, and reveal the beeswax encaustic layers that give every face its glassy glow. Whether you’re an art lover, history buff, or VR newcomer, “Faces of Forever” turns museum glass into a living conversation with the ancient past—no Egyptology degree required.
