This folio, titled "A in his Palace," comes from a nineteenth-century manuscript of the Kulliyat, the complete works the renowned Persian poet Sa'di. Created in ink, opaque, and gold on paper, the illustration captures a scene of courtly life, with the central figure of a ruler surrounded by attendants.
