Rudolph Otto "Rudy" Pozzatti, born on January 14, 1925, in Telluride, Colorado, to Italian immigrants Mary Mimiolla and Innocente Pozzatti, grew up in a mining town where his early passion for drawing blossomed despite limited formal instruction.
