About this artwork
The front (obverse) of this coin portrays the emperor Nero, facing left. On the back (reverse), the goddesses Ceres and Abundance are depicted. Ceres is seated and facing left, with a torch and grain while Abundance is standing and facing right, holding the horn of Amaltheus (cornucopia), which was a symbol of abundance.
