Het is onduidelijk of Giulio Campagnola bekend was met de tekening van Andrea Mantegna (verloren gegaan) of dat hij zich baseerde op de gravure van Girolamo Mocetto naar de tekening van Mantegna die enkele jaren eerder vervaardigd werd.
